Two separate investigations were launched today into a riot that broke out in Dublin’s Mountjoy Prison.

Up to 50 prisoners have barricaded themselves into the recreation area in the D wing of Mountjoy prison in Dublin.

THE authorities are hoping a 12-day dirty protest by three prisoners in Cork jail will be called off shortly, despite the fact the inmates haven’t told officials what sparked the action.
