A Wicklow man jailed for killing his ex-fiancée's three-and-a-half-month-old baby has lost an appeal against his conviction for manslaughter.

A 34-year-old man is to be sentenced today for killing his former fiancee's baby son.

The trial of a man accused of murdering his ex-fiancée’s baby has heard that the pattern of haemorrhages in the child’s eyes in conjunction with brain trauma was “consistent with non-accidental injury.”
