It has been an amazing year for me, it is very strange to write it down and realise that in 2012 I was so fortunate as to finish the Oceans 7 Challenge and become the first Irish person and the first person in the world to swim them all. I have been very, very lucky.

Giant squid, stinging jellyfish and sharks — not to mention 15ft high swells — are among the challenges facing swimmer Steve Redmond when he attempts the final phase of his gruelling Ocean’s Seven Challenge in Japan next week.

Marathon swimmer Steve Redmond certainly looks like a fish out of water as he gets suited and booted for his upcoming Late, Late Show appearance tomorrow.
