A charity has invited families and friends of people who lost their lives through suicide to come together to remember their loved ones at a special Christmas Celebration of Light.

The head of a national suicide charity has urged the Government to respond to the suicide crisis in the same way it prioritised road safety which led to a reduction in road deaths.

Thousands of families and friends of people lost to suicide came together last night to remember their loved ones at candle-lit ceremonies around the country.
