BRITISH Prime Minister David Cameron offered “a very warm welcome” to Pope Benedict XVI ahead of his visit to Britain.

SUPPORT for the Pope among British Roman Catholics remains high, despite most disagreeing with their Church’s stance on controversial issues, a survey indicated yesterday.

The Pope’s visit to Britain this week will allow the country to gain “fresh energy and inspiration” from its “rich Christian inheritance”, a leading Catholic said today.
