GARDA hopes of charging a suspect for a gangland murder in Waterford over ten years ago have been dashed after DNA tests failed to link him to the crime.

A SUSPECT for a gangland murder which happened more than 10 years ago has been nabbed by gardaí as he tried to sneak back into the country.

THE partly-burnt body of a man shot twice in the head had many other gruesome injuries, a coroner’s court heard yesterday.

A 37-year-old man has been sentenced to three and a half years yesterday at the Central Criminal Court for perverting the course of justice and withholding information from gardaí, in relation to the murder of a man whose body was found in a Co Waterford wood.
