An incident which led to the death of a Dublin man when he was run over by a limousine after jumping on the bonnet was a tragic misunderstanding, Dublin Coroner’s Court has heard.

A jury in the case of a youth who allegedly ran over and killed a man returning from a night out have been dismissed after failing to reach a verdict.

A witness has today described to a jury how he saw his late friend dragged under a limousine and been pinned against the back wheel.

A 21-year-old has gone on trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in connection with the death of a man who was dragged under a limousine in the early hours of the morning.
