Fifteen motorists accused of drink driving, including one driver facing two separate drink-driving charges, had their cases dismissed by a district court judge yesterday.

Dubbed the “Claureen crater”, a pothole on the fringes of Ennis, Co Clare, was a silver lining for one firm, generating revenues of €12,000 in emergency tyre repairs in a matter of days.

Clare County Council today announced that up to 10,000 vehicles per day are expected to use section two of the N18 Ennis bypass project, which opens to traffic at 7pm today.
