A 27-year-old Dublin man who was previously sentenced to five years for manslaughter has been given a mandatory life sentence for the murder of a Chinese student.

A 27-year-old Dublin man was convicted of the murder of a Chinese student by a jury in the Central Criminal Court tonight.

The South Midland Construction Company Ltd has been fined €100,000 for breach of health and safety regulations which led to the death of an employee in Blanchardstown in November 2001.
