AS many as 100,000 people are thought to have died in the devastating earthquake which shook the capital of Haiti.

A UN Security Council delegation praised the party of ousted President Jean-Bertrand Aristide for fighting to overturn the disqualification of its Senate candidates, saying it could help avert a potentially dangerous crisis.
