EVER so slowly we seem to be moving towards a situation where cyclists will be treated as equals to motorists.

A 30-YEAR campaign to remove one of the country’s notorious traffic bottlenecks ended yesterday with the official opening of a €35 million bypass in Castleisland, Co Kerry.

WORK is “extremely well advanced” on providing a €137 million bypass for traffic-choked Tralee.

A HIGH-LEVEL deputation from Kerry will meet the National Roads Authority (NRA) in Dublin today, amid concerns about delays in carrying out major roadworks in the county, at an estimated cost of at least €180 million.
