A junior minister and his wife have consented to judgment for €2.47m being entered against them at the Commercial Court over unpaid loans.

The minister of state for small business, John Perry, and his wife are being pursued by a bank for a €2.4m judgment over unpaid loans.

The jury has retired to consider their verdict in the trial of a 29-year-old man charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of murder in Co Sligo two years ago.
