The row over the Irish Prime Minister's cancelled visit to Scotland has intensified as the Labour MP at the centre of the controversy suggested Dublin leaked damaging information to the press.

The Irish Taoiseach was today officially invited to Scotland after he pulled out of a visit this weekend following advice from a Labour MP.

Senior Scottish ministers have tried to distance themselves from the Taoiseach's postponed visit to the country.
