THE final bill for the Dublin Port Tunnel could exceed the estimated cost of €750 million because of a dispute between Dublin City Council and contractors working on the State’s largest ever infrastructural project.

NATIONAL Toll Roads is set to earn over €1 billion in revenue from its contract to operate the Westlink toll bridge on the M50 in Dublin up to 2020, even though it cost the company only €38 million to construct.

ENVIRONMENTALISTS are planning a legal challenge to the completion of the C-ring motorway around Dublin as its route will destroy large parts of an important medieval site at Carrickmines.
