A 47-year-old man whose body was found in Co Offaly yesterday suffered a number of gunshot wounds, gardaí have said.

Gardaí probing the death of 47-year-old Christy Daly, who was found dead in a drain in Co Offaly yesterday, have upgraded their investigation to a murder enquiry.

The body of a man found in a drain near a burnt out caravan in Offaly may have been there since Dec 29.
