Demolition work gets under way today to pave the way for a vast new riverside public sports, adventure, and ecology park, which will wrap around Cork’s regenerated flagship GAA stadium.

The sun blazed down on 550 rowers and paddlers who were cheered through Cork harbour and into Cork city as they took on the gruelling task of completing the 10th Rás Mór, Ireland’s number one rowing race.

PLANS for a €50 million mixed-use project in the Blackrock Harbour/Castle Road area of Cork city have been shot down by An Bord Pleanála.

OFF-LICENCES will be banned under a €3 million regeneration plan for Cork’s historic Blackrock village.
