A Chinese man who was sentenced to life for the double murder of two Chinese students has been refused leave to appeal to the Supreme Court.

A jury has retired to consider verdicts in the trial of a Chinese man accused of double murder in Dublin two years ago.

A student couple whose badly charred bodies were found in an apartment in Dublin in March 2001 were strangled before their apartment was set on fire, the deputy state pathologist has told the Central Criminal Court.
