SUSPECTED al-Qaida suicide bombers targeted British interests in Istanbul yesterday, killing at least 27 people including the British consul, and leaving more than 450 injured in twin attacks.

At least six people were feared dead and 100 injured today after three explosions shook Istanbul, including blasts in front of the British consulate and outside the Turkish headquarters of the HSBC bank.
