The Court of Appeal has found that wholly suspended 10-year sentences imposed on a man described as the "oldest drugs mule to come before the courts" and another man for the possession of €1.2m in drugs were too lenient.

A man believed to be Ireland's oldest drugs mule is facing jail after his 10 year suspended sentence was quashed by the Court of Appeal for being too lenient.

Two men described as “puppets on a string” for a €1.2m drugs operation have each been given a 10-year suspended sentence today.
