BALLYVALLEY sounds like the name of a fictional Irish townland, the sort of place an English TV show might latch onto - if it hadn’t come up with Ballykissangel.

THERE are 32,000 acres covered by the waters of Lough Derg. One of Ireland’s largest lakes, it bounds Tipperary, Clare and Galway counties and is navigable over 40 kilometres, making it one of the premier residential and tourist locations in the country.
