Agriculture and food development authority Teagasc made a loss of almost €1m in 2011, after recording a surplus of €3.4m in 2010.

NINE people have lost their lives in farm-related accidents so far this year compared with 11 for all of 2009.

TEAGASC is to sell its Kilmaley, Co Clare farm of 49 hectares (121 acres) and about one hectare (2.5 acres) with development potential at Kinsealy in north Dublin.
