The lives of more than 2,000 soldiers and their families in one town over a century have been revealed through research using church and other archives.

IN a recent letter regarding the Dripsey ambush (Irish Examiner, July 22), Brendan Cafferty links the names of Mrs Lindsay and Fr Shinnick as people who decided to stop an ambush. And he questions why only Mrs Lindsay (a Protestant) was shot.
