The head of the Polish national tourist organisation has been fired after he said he wanted to remove the Auschwitz memorial and a Jewish history museum from tours for foreign journalists.

Three men were jailed today for stealing the notorious 'Arbeit Macht Frei' ('Work Sets You Free') sign from the Auschwitz memorial site last year.

Polish police say they have found the infamous "Arbeit Macht Frei" sign that was stolen on Friday from the gate of the former Nazi death camp of Auschwitz gate.
