A man has been jailed for attacking a pensioner and his daughter with a hammer in Dublin.

Gardaí are investigating an attempted raid on a cash-in-transit van in north Dublin this morning.

A man has been jailed for 15 years in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for his part in holding four people hostage for up to two hours.
