A Dublin man who strangled his partner of seven years has failed in an attempt to have his conviction overturned on appeal.

A man who strangled his girlfriend in a row over her smoking hash in their apartment has been found guilty of her murder and jailed for life at the Central Criminal Court.

A 33-year-old man killed his girlfriend by strangling her, then left her body in the flat they shared and went out drinking for the rest of the night and the following day, before contacting gardaí, a jury has heard.
