U2’s planned visitor centre for Dublin has been branded "oppressive, intimidating and unattractive" with concerns that it will have “a devastating impact" on the Docklands area and its residents.

An Bord Pleanála has given the green light for a new nine-storey office block overlooking the River Liffey opposite the International Financial Services Centre.

Plans have been submitted for a €450m property development in the heart of the Dublin Docklands with construction due to get under way early next year.
