A jury returned an 11-1 guilty verdict in the re-trial of a man accused of pouring a kettle of boiling water and sugar over his pregnant girlfriend’s leg.

A pregnant woman watching Eastenders had a kettle of boiling water and sugar poured over her leg by her boyfriend, she told a jury, but he said it was a small amount of water that accidentally fell and blamed a slope in the room.
