Plans to develop a stately home and 400-acre park into one of the country’s top tourist attractions have already received a major boost.

A development group is hoping to get €4m funding to do up three unique gardens at a stately home in North Cork.

THE Office of Public Works (OPW) is set to carry out €500,000 of restoration work on a park in north Cork in a bid to increase visitor numbers to 300,000 per year within the next five years.
