A MAJOR operation targeting reckless motorists is to be carried out over the next two days following two weeks of carnage on the roads that has left 15 people dead.

FIVE people have died in just 24 hours in one of the blackest weekends ever on Irish roads.

Gardaí have named two of the five people killed in road accidents this weekend.
