FORMER Esat Digifone legal expert Jarleth Burke told the resumed Moriarty Tribunal yesterday he had never had any contact with Michael Lowry, Minister for Communications during the competition for the country’s second mobile phone licence in 1995.

A SENIOR civil servant who headed the project team that vetted applicants for the country’s second mobile telephone licence could shed no light for the tribunal yesterday on how an executive linked to Esat Digifone’s successful bid received a copy of top-level EU correspondence.

A SENIOR civil servant told the Moriarty Tribunal yesterday he was surprised at being able to secure a copy of a confidential EU document within 10 days of it being issued to an Italian government minister.
