Following the letter by Ursula Curtin (Apr 17) regarding her recent visit to Cobh, a number of Cobh locals wish to issue this response.

Having visited Cobh today, in an effort to join in the Titanic celebrations, I am disheartened that the only words that come to mind after having spent the day there are “could try harder”.
