US POLICE and the FBI are scouring the country for a man accused of murdering five women in southern Louisiana after a DNA dragnet linked him to one of the slayings.

Authorities in the US said they believe a woman whose body was found last month in a field was the victim of a serial killer responsible for the deaths of three other women.
