Organised “family fun” bonfires may be piloted in Co Cork this year in an effort to counter anti-social behaviour which has become part and parcel of such celebrations.

A TEAM of 20 gardaí backed up by motorcyclists from the Traffic Corps are to start Operation Freeflow in Cork city from Monday next.

GARDAÍ will set up a pilot project today aimed at encouraging more asylum seekers and immigrants to report incidents of racial abuse.
