AN EXPLOSION ripped through an unlicensed fireworks factory in an industrial section of Istanbul yesterday, killing 20 people and injuring 117, said officials.

An apartment building collapsed in Istanbul today, and rescue teams reached one person trapped alive under the debris, firefighter chief said.
