Chinese writer Mo Yan has today been named the winner of the Nobel Prize in literature.

SWEDEN’S most famous living poet, Tomas Tranströmer, won the Nobel Prize for literature yesterday, more than 20 years after a stroke severely limited his speech and movement, but not the power of his writing.

The 2011 Nobel Prize in literature has been awarded to Tomas Transtromer, a Swedish poet whose surrealistic works about the mysteries of the human mind won him acclaim.
