A north Dublin businessman who raped a foreign tourist in a Killarney hotel has been jailed for 10 years by Mr Justice Paul Carney at the Central Criminal Court.

A north Dublin businessman became the prime suspect for a Killarney hotel alleged rape of a foreign tourist after a garda observed hotel security footage images which fitted the woman's description of her attacker.

The trial has opened at the Central Criminal Court of a Kerry man charged with threatening to kill and attempting to rape a then 17-year old girl on Christmas Eve two years ago.
