I REFER to Darren Mac an Phriora’s letter (Irish Examiner, September 2) in relation to Conradh na Gaeilge’s work in general and to our campaign to improve the teaching of Irish in education in particular.

PRIMARY schools are facing a leadership crisis as the number of teachers applying for principals’ posts has fallen to an all-time low, it was claimed last night.

UP to 50,000 primary school pupils are at a disadvantage because their teacher is also burdened with the duties of principal, it was claimed last night.
