INSPIRED by a tip from compatriot Christy O’Connor Jnr, Des Smyth captured his fourth European Senior Tour title in thrilling fashion with a sublime round of 65 at the Van Lanschot Senior Open in Holland yesterday.

IRELAND’S Pat Errity, from The European Club, secured one of the six places at the European Senior Tour Q-School final Stage in Portugal yesterday, earning playing rights for the 2011 season.
