At least 20 people have died after violent storms and tornadoes tore through south-eastern US states.

Severe storms that caused destruction across southern US states have claimed at least 18 lives on a two-day sweep across the region.

The governor of Georgia has declared a state of emergency in seven counties - after 11 people were killed in tornado storms on Sunday.
