More than 10,000 households were left without power overnight on Friday after heavy rain, thunder and lightning hit many areas across Munster and the rest of the country the previous night.

Update: Homes, farms and businesses are still without power supply following bad weather overnight after almost 10,000 customers were affected this morninhg, mainly in Cork, Tipperary and Wexford.
