EastEnders actor Steve McFadden today settled a damages claim against News Group Newspapers and the Metropolitan Police issued in the wake of the phone hacking revelations.

Former UK Cabinet minister Tessa Jowell has accepted £200,000 (€236,000) in damages after her phone was targeted by the News of the World.
