A Dublin man who repeatedly kicked the head of a Lithuanian man in "an unprovoked, absolutely vicious" attack which left him in a vegetative state had his sentence increased from seven to twelve years imprisonment by the Court of Criminal Appeal today.

Two men who took part in a row that left a Lithuanian man with horrific injuries were today jailed for three years.

A Ballyfermot teenager who left a Lithuanian national in a "vegetative state" following what was described as "an unprovoked, savage and unwarranted attack" has been jailed for seven years.
