Italy’s health minister toured parts of southern Italy today where six wild swans infected with the bird flu virus were found.

Bird flu has been detected in migratory birds in Italy, Greece and Bulgaria, it was revealed today.

The head of Nestle, the world’s biggest food company, today apologised to Italian Health Minister Francesco Storace for a “memory lapse” in a dispute over the recall of baby milk, but Storace said the apology was insufficient and threatened legal action.
