David Drumm was "freaked out" when he phoned his bankruptcy lawyer having learned of concerns over unreported cash transactions between him and his wife.

Fear of media attention from Irish tabloids forced the wife of former Anglo Irish Bank CEO David Drumm to use her maiden name to open a bank account not long after moving to the US.

David Drumm claimed he was "devastated" when it became clear that there were "voluminous" errors in financial statements made to bankruptcy lawyers.
