Roasting and frying starchy foods could increase the risk of cancer, a British Government body has said.

Irish families could be wasting as much as €1,000 a year because of confusion over certain foods being unsafe to freeze.

Major retailers and suppliers are meeting the UK's Food Standards Agency (FSA) today to work out how to prevent food becoming contaminated and entering the supply chain.
