Wallace and Gromit scooped an Oscar today for their movie debut The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, winning the award for best animated feature film.

It was snubbed by the Golden Globes, the Baftas, and the Oscars – but film-goers have nominated the blockbuster King Kong for five film awards.

Claymation hit Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit was the big winner at the Annie Awards on Saturday, picking up 10 trophies at the annual animation ceremony.

Five years in the making and it’s welcome back to the Oscar-laden, cheese-loving partnership of Wallace and Gromit.

The company behind the successful Wallace and Gromit films said today that its “entire history” was destroyed in a devastating fire at a warehouse containing all its theatrical props.
