Insurgents killed two members of Nato’s mission to Afghanistan in the south of the country today, the multinational force said.

Twenty-four Taliban militants died in clashes with Afghan and foreign troops in southern Afghanistan it was revealed today. The insurgents were believed to be responsible for an attack on a road-building project days earlier.

US-led coalition and Afghan security forces aided by airstrikes killed about 25 militants during raids on a Taliban command centre in southern Afghanistan, the coalition said today.
