A man is facing life in jail after confessing to the murder of Irish vet Catherine Gowing.

The family of missing Irish vet Catherine Gowing have met police search teams on a visit to the scene where her burnt-out car was found.

Specialist underwater units and forensic experts continued a massive search operation yesterday near where missing Offaly woman Catherine Gowing’s burned-out car was found last Friday.

The family of a missing vet vowed to “bring her home” today as a man appeared in court charged with her murder.
