SENATOR Edward Kennedy’s body was taken to Boston last night to lie in repose at his murdered brother’s presidential library for two days of public visits.

TED Kennedy wasn’t Jack and he wasn’t Bobby but, despite growing tarnished and growing old, he achieved more than both of them put together, particularly when it came to Ireland.

IT is to be welcomed that Edward Kennedy, one of the longest-serving American senators and a Democratic Party patriarch, is to receive an honorary knighthood from Queen Elizabeth. The honour is one of the highest that country can bestow.
