British Horseracing Board chairman Peter Savill has moved to remove the grey area which exists between UK racing’s two governing bodies by proposing the merger of their governance and regulatory roles.

A referee who gave a team losing 18-1 a helping hand by scoring a goal for them resigned today after being suspended by the Football Association.

British racing will resume at Lingfield Park on Wednesday, the British Horseracing Board and Jockey Club have confirmed.
